The UM66 Melody IC is a compact sound generator in a TO-92 package designed for simple melody playback. Operating on 1.3V–3.3V with very low power consumption, it features a built-in RC oscillator and 64-note ROM memory covering 2 octaves. The IC supports one-shot or level-hold modes, allowing melodies to play once or repeat continuously. With 15 selectable tempo variations, it can drive a piezo speaker directly or a dynamic speaker via an external NPN transistor. Featuring automatic stop or repeat options, the UM66 is widely used in toys, alarms, doorbells, and consumer electronic projects requiring melody playback.
